Golden Eagles

Our art inspired by the Amazon Rainforest

This afternoon we have been investigating how circuits work.

Our drama lesson acting out what evacuees may have done and felt during World War Two.

In Science, we planted some flowers ready to use in our science investigation.

World Book Day 2019 - Today we have been focusing on the Shirley Hughes 'The Lion and the Unicorn' which compliments our current World War Two topic. The children loved listening to the book and have written their own descriptions of the garden that features in the book.

Just a reminder that the letter for our class trip linked with our World War Two topic has been sent out with your children. If you do not have a copy of the letter or need a replacement please go to the main office to request another copy or see Mr Hornsey at the end of the day.

Thank you for your support

Mr Hornsey

Today in PE we have continued to develop our cricket skills.

Today we had a taster session of ultimate frisbee. We had a great time and have enjoyed learning the new skills involved.

The children have been investigating time in maths and understanding how the minute and hour hands work together on a clock.

We have been investigating magnets and have made our own compass using a magnet, a bowl, water and a clear dish.

We have created some of our own artwork inspired by that of Kandinsky.

In maths this week we have been looking at 3-D shapes. The children have enjoyed making 3-D shapes and describing their properties.

Each class has been given a "worry monster" who will physically eat our children's worries when they are written down on paper. We set a competition for the children in their class to name their worry monster and then had a vote for our favourites. Well done to Thomas who named the Golden Eagles monster as "ZigZag."
