We have enjoyed a visit from Tommy the Tortoise. As well as learning all about these reptiles we also looked at the Aesop's fable 'The tortoise and the Hare'.

Thanks to one of our parents Robins class have been super lucky to have had the opportunity to watch the lifecycle of a butterfly first hand. The children have loved learning all about butterflies and enjoying setting the butterflies free in the school nature reserve.
We enjoyed learning lots of new cricket skills.

We have been learning about money through role play at our class shop
We have been learning about algorithms and had lots of fun being challenged playing the Bee-Bot game.
We had lots of fun in the snow.
The Easter Bunny left us a number of maths based challenges to complete and we had lots of fun!
We went exploring our local area looking for signs of spring.
We made our own African drums and used African inspired patterns to decorate them.
In science we investigated which habitat woodlice prefer; dark and damp, dark and dry, light and damp or light and dry. Our conclusion was they prefer dark and damp habitats.
As part of our Africa topic we have enjoyed using the drums to learn about rhythm.
We enjoyed guessing 'who's behind the mask'!
In science we enjoyed exploring the nature reserve looking for minibeasts.

Today we enjoyed looking at how our seeds and bulbs had grown.
As part of Remembrance Day we weaved our own poppies to help us remember the soldiers who lost their lives at war.
When learning about Autumn we researched hedgehogs and then made our own out of natural materials found in Autumn.
As part of our 'My Family' topic we designed and made our own Coat of Arms
We have been planting cress seeds.
As part of our plants topic in science we have been planting seeds and bulbs to help us investigate what they need to grow best.
As part of our BLP day based around the book 'The Dot' by Peter H. Reynolds we went outside and investigated/ estimated how may droplets/ dots of water it would take to cover different size dots.

Welcome Back
Here is a little video that shows you and your children how they will come into school tomorrow as well as the amazing new outdoor area that has been created for Robins class over the summer and the classroom set up. We can not wait to welcome the children back to school :)
