World Cup Creative Day

To celebrate the 2018 Football World Cup, currently being held in Russia, we have had a whole school non-uniform and creative themed day.

All the children came to school in their sports gear and rotated around various football based creative activities in their house teams throughout the day. We had a Lego and building block construction workshop in which they used teamwork to make their own football stadiums, a football skills masterclass from Mr Kelwick and some of our older children from Barn Owls class, an art workshop in which they designed and made their own football shirts complete with numbers and names on the back, plus a dance and singing workshop in which we focused on goal celebrations to put to the music of the 1990 classic "Love's got the world in motion." The whole day was thoroughly enjoyed by all and we shared our activities at the end of the day in a special celebration assembly. Gosberton flower festival

Our Orchard class and Year 1 children have been very busy this week preparing our school display for the Gosberton Church flower festival. This year's theme is "childhood memories" so as a group we thought of different things we like to do and places we like to visit.

"The seaside" was an overwhelming favourite with the children and so our idea was set! They thought of lots of different things they like to do whilst at the coast and we rallied round to find appropriate items within school. All children involved also worked like absolute troopers, making craft flowers to create the beach and the sea.

We hope you like our display - please go and visit Gosberton church over the next week if you get the chance!

The children turned the tables on the teachers today when they hosted the quiz 'Test the Teacher'. The children were fantastic - it was the teachers who were badly behaved...!

Dance development afternoon

Eleven of our year 3 & 4 pupils had the opportunity to go to Boston High School for an afternoon as part of the Boston and District dance development initiative. They worked as a group to learn a routine, choreographed by the High school pupils themselves. It was a great afternoon and the children tried so hard, really impressing us!

Diwali Day

Still image for this video
We celebrated Diwali in school by dressing up in our brightest clothes and taking part in various different Hindu activities throughout the day. We learnt and acted out the story of Rama and Sita, made lots of Diwali based crafts such as Diva lamps and Mendhi patterns, cooked traditional Hindu sweets and learnt some Indian dance moves.
It was a fantastic day and here is a taster of our display at the end of the day!
