Clerk to Governors

 G4 9 Pro-rata salary based on 2.2 hours per week over 52 weeks as per LCC terms of employment.

Closing Date: 28th March 2024

Starting date: 1st May 2024 or as soon as possible once checks have been completed.

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated Clerk to the Governors, to join our committed team at Quadring Cowley and Brown’s Primary School.

We are a small rural primary school located in Quadring, between Spalding and Boston, with approximately 105 children on roll, aged from 4 -11 years. The successful candidate will be willing to become part of our friendly administrative team, and will be a self-motivated individual, who is reliable, efficient and effective. Whilst experience as a Clerk to the Governors is highly beneficial, we would also like to encourage colleagues who may be new to the profession.

The successful applicant will be required to attend all Full Governing Board meetings. There are currently 6 FGB Meetings per annum (usually on the last Wednesday of each short term but this is subject to governor availability and occasionally may change). There is an additional FGB meeting at the end of the financial year that focuses on the end of year financial reporting and on budget setting for the forthcoming year.

We are ideally looking for someone who:

  • is an efficient and effective administrator and team member;
  • is organised, self-motivated and methodical in their work;
  • is able to set agendas and take detailed minutes;
  • is able to work with a diverse governing board
  • is able to source and provide advice to the governing board
  • is able to abide by the confidentiality of the role at all times.
  • is competent with using Information Technology and communicating via emails.
  • has undertaken or is willing to undertake the National Clerks Training Programme and any additional training relevant to this role.
