Golden Eagles

Welcome to Golden Eagles class page. We hope you enjoy keeping up to date with the exciting things we get up to this year.

Today we was lucky enough to have Chapbook History with us this afternoon to make this fantastic Roman Vicus.

Today we have been outside using nature to create some artwork. All inspired by Andy Goldsworthy.

This week to coincide with our Esio Trot work in English we have had Tommy the Tortoise visit our class. He had a great day and so did we.

This week's class assembly can be accessed via the link to our Video Channel below;

In Maths we have been making nets for 3D shapes.

In PE we have had Mr Jellyman come in to teach us tri golf.

In Topic we have been busy making our own Roman Shields.

Homework this week:

Here are the rules for finding out a fraction of an amount. This will help with the children's homework this week; the children requested that this was put on the website.

Divide by the denominator (the bottom number), then times by the numerator (the top number).

World Book Day

Having made our fatballs/ bird cakes to feed the birds for our science investigation, we went to observe which food birds preferred to eat. We recorded our results as a tally every time a bird ate each of the foods. Keep checking back to find out our results.

In English we have been looking at instructions. We have managed to follow an instructional video to make a pirate hat. The children thought they could make the instructional video better so in groups are planning their videos.

In Maths we were looking at rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000.

In Science, we are investigating which type of food birds prefer, so to start we have been busy making bird cakes to feed the birds over the coming week.

Here is the timetable for Term 4

Highlights from our fourth placed finish at Sportshall Athletics today

Today we explored circuits. Mrs Wood was very impressed by the scientific thinking that went on in the class.

We have made our own Iron Age sculptures of Stonehenge using bourbon biscuits. These have turned out really well! Excellent work everyone!

It's that time of year again, Christmas cards!

We have performed some poems that we have looked at this week. We focussed on the verbs so that we can visualise the imagery that the verbs can give the reader.

We have looked at the worship of hunter-gatherers during the Stone Age. We completed a drama on our take of what a Stone Age ceremony would have been like.

Welcome back to all of our children in Golden Eagles!!!

I hope you had a well rested break and are ready for the challenge of Year 3 and Year 4.

Also a big hello and welcome to all of our new children joining us this year, I hope you will be very happy and enjoy yourself as much as we will enjoy teaching you!

Mr Wright and Mrs Wilson :)
