Midday Supervisory Assistant

Quadring Cowley and Brown's Primary School, Church End, Donington, Spalding PE11 4SQ.

The children, Head teacher, staff and governors of Quadring Cowley and Brown’s Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, well-motivated and reliable midday supervisor to join our lunchtime team, who is committed to providing high quality care for our children in a safe and nurturing environment.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is inclusive, friendly, helpful and has a calm manner with our children
  • Enjoys working as part of a team and is able to use their own initiative
  • Has a positive attitude in supporting the wellbeing of all children.
  • Is keen to help develop active and positive play, helping the children to play happily and safely.
  • Will encourage and support with the school’s healthy eating initiative.
  • Has experience of working with and interacting with children
  • Is willing to support our Playground Leaders in developing positive playtimes.
  • Is committed to be involved in the wider life of our village school.

Ideally applicants should have experience of working in this type of role or can demonstrate a good understanding of the role requirements.

Applicants should be willing to undergo First Aid Training and Safeguarding training alongside any other relevant CPD relevant to the role.

Wellbeing Mentor

Quadring Cowley and Brown's Primary School, Church End, Donington, Spalding PE11 4SQ.

Group 1, 107 children on roll

Post: Wellbeing Mentor required for 4 days per week (9.00 – 15.00)

Salary: £18065 p.a. pro rata   approximately £12678 yearly

Hours: Initially 20 hours p/w split over 4 days Monday to Thursday to include 30 minutes lunchtime play mentor. This could be increased depending on the needs of the school.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated Wellbeing mentor to work with children across the school from September/October 2020 or a soon as possible thereafter..

This role involves supporting children of all ages, 1:1, in small groups and within classrooms, dependant on the needs arising.

As a school, we are fully committed to providing a high level of pastoral support for all of our children. As a result of COVID-19, we know that there are many of our young children who will return to school with anxieties and worries, who will need tailored and focused additional support.

The role will involve:

  • Working alongside and supporting a range of children for social, emotional and mental wellbeing needs.
  • Working in classrooms to support children in accessing their learning.
  • Working alongside and supporting a highly committed and caring staff team.
  • Working alongside the Wellbeing Lead and SENDCo in planning and leading wellbeing interventions.
  • Liaising with Staff in terms of adapting plans to suit individual needs, feedback to staff regarding pupils and maintaining records for pupils.

We need someone who:

  • Has experience of supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental wellbeing;
  • Is able to provide a high level of pastoral care for our children;
  • Is resilient and able to cope with the demands that this post will bring;
  • Is a positive, optimistic and enthusiastic role model;
  • Works in a calm, caring and supportive manner;
  • Is committed to helping children overcome barriers;
  • Can maintain confidentiality of and sensitivity to information;
  • Can recognise that children’s needs are different and individuals may need different approaches to support them;
  • Has high expectations for all children;
  • Is able to work on their own initiative but also who can work as part of a team with patience and positivity;
  • Has a sense of humour;
  • Is willing to be involved in the wider life of the whole school;
  • Is flexible and adaptable
