Any child who did not recieve a sponsor form today can still collect sponsors for Monday.
Dear Parent/Carer,
As you know, the NSPCC visited our school yesterday and delivered their Speak out. Stay safe. assembly to share information with your child about how they can keep themselves safe from harm and get help if they have any worries.
It was a very worthwhile and empowering session for both pupils and teachers. They spoke to the children and staff about the valuable work they do across the country, and talked about how important it is for everyone in our school community to join them in their ‘fight for every childhood’.
Talking about the Underwear Rule with your children
The NSPCC’s work in schools will help encourage conversations about staying safe – and they have a number of child-friendly materials to help you carry on the conversation afterwards. That includes ‘The Underwear Rule’, a simple way for parents to help keep children safe from abuse.
The guide uses the rules of PANTS to teach children that their body belongs to them and them alone. You can find out more and download the free resources at nspcc.org.uk/pants
If you’d like to know more about the NSPCC’s work, or take a look at the wide range of information and advice which is available for parents and carers, please visit their website nspcc.org.uk/preventing-abuse/keeping-children-safe/
In support of the fabulous work of the NSPCC, on Monday 3rd February, we are holding a fundraising event where all the children will take part in ‘Drop your books and Boogie’.
On the hour every hour, each class teacher will play a song of their choice and for 2 – 3 minutes the children will drop their books and get an opportunity to dance.
All the children have been given a sponsorship form today and we would like to encourage you to support our school in supporting this very worthy cause. Due to the short period of time that your child has to gather sponsors (as we only received the sponsor forms today) we would be most grateful if they could either choose to collect sponsorship or provide a general donation to the charity if you are able.
Once again we thank you for the fantastic support that you continue to give to our wonderful school and children.
Parent Helpers in School We have many volunteers who hear the children read, help at swimming, help at school events etc. If you would like to help in school and could offer just a short amount of your time we would greatly appreciate this. As reading is a particular focus on our School Development Plan this year we are looking for volunteer parents to hear our children read. |
Child Care in our local area Following the recent closure of a local nursery LCC Early Years and Childcare support have asked us to provide a link to the Family Services Directory, that provides information for parents/carers regarding alternative childcare available locally.
If you need any support with accessing this information please don’t hesitate to contact the school office.

Fantastic News!
It gives me great pleasure in sharing with you the fantastic news that our school has been recognised under the Real Schools Guide 2020 as being in the top 10 schools in Lincolnshire. This wonderful news goes alongside the fabulous 2018/2019 Key Stage 2 Statutory Assessment results, which also place our school in the top 12% in the country. This is a fabulous achievement for the children, staff, parents and Governors. I would like to thank all of the children for working so hard and achieving so much success. I would also like to thank the dedicated and hard working staff who support your children to believe in themselves and achieve the best they can, and all parents/carers for the continuing support that you give to your children but also to the school on a daily basis.
This is such a proud moment for our school and for all of us. Well done to everyone!
Thank you as always for your continued support.
Mrs Jameson and all of the staff.
