Sports Relief Week
This week we will be supporting and raising awareness of the fabulous work carried out through Sports Relief.
George very proudly shared his trophy for playing football.
Nathan very proudly sharing his signed Peterborough United Programme - supporting his favourite sport and team!
This week the children from Golden Eagles, Robins and Orchard class have all taken part in some shared reading. The Golden Eagles children chose a story to read to the younger pupils first and then the children swapped roles and all the Orchard children read their own story to their older pupil or adult. It was such a lovely activity and the children thoroughly enjoyed it.
The Golden Eagles children felt very authoritative as they were asked to write a short reflection on how well they thought the younger pupils had read to them.
What a lovely morning!
World Cup Creative Day
To celebrate the 2018 Football World Cup, currently being held in Russia, we have had a whole school non-uniform and creative themed day.
All the children came to school in their sports gear and rotated around various football based creative activities in their house teams throughout the day. We had a Lego and building block construction workshop in which they used teamwork to make their own football stadiums, a football skills masterclass from Mr Kelwick and some of our older children from Barn Owls class, an art workshop in which they designed and made their own football shirts complete with numbers and names on the back, plus a dance and singing workshop in which we focused on goal celebrations to put to the music of the 1990 classic "Love's got the world in motion." The whole day was thoroughly enjoyed by all and we shared our activities at the end of the day in a special celebration assembly. Please take a look at the video channel on our website to see more from our celebration assembly!
Congratulations to our Year 5 Kwik Cricket Team
We are extremely proud of our Year 5 kwik cricket team who won their Boston & District tournament to qualify for the county finals.
They did us very proud and came 5th from the whole county.
Well done guys you were brilliant - and such fantastic sports!
Gosberton flower festival
Our Orchard class and Year 1 children have been very busy this week preparing our school display for the Gosberton Church flower festival. This year's theme is "childhood memories" so as a group we thought of different things we like to do and places we like to visit.
"The seaside" was an overwhelming favourite with the children and so our idea was set! They thought of lots of different things they like to do whilst at the coast and we rallied round to find appropriate items within school. All children involved also worked like absolute troopers, making craft flowers to create the beach and the sea.
We hope you like our display - please go and visit Gosberton church over the next week if you get the chance!
Dance development afternoon
Eleven of our year 3 & 4 pupils had the opportunity to go to Boston High School for an afternoon as part of the Boston and District dance development initiative. They worked as a group to learn a routine, choreographed by the High school pupils themselves. It was a great afternoon and the children tried so hard, really impressing us!
