At Quadring Primary we are dedicated to developing enthusiastic and confident readers. We have launched an ‘Extreme Reading’ challenge. This is where children are photographed reading in unusual places. One of our children launched this by sharing a photo of himself reading whilst showjumping on his pony! Ideas for photo opportunities could be reading whilst in a football goal, reading at the top of a mountain, reading at a landmark, reading on a climbing frame etc. We will be creating a display in school of these wonderful and memorable moments and also posting them on the school website so the more unusual the better! We hope that this display will also show the out of school interests and talents of our pupils. Please email your photos to enquiries@quadringprimary.co.uk.
In order to develop enthusiastic and confident readers, we like to give our pupils as many opportunities as possible to read out loud in school. We are already very fortunate to have a number of volunteers who come into school and listen to the pupils and we are looking to further develop this extremely valuable resource. If you have an hour or two to spare on a regular basis to listen to readers, please could you let Mrs Bemrose in the school office know when you would be available. Thank you
