Reading
Your child has their own reading book from the school reading scheme to read at home. We would encourage you to hear your child read daily, but we do appreciate that this may not always be possible. Please record each time your child reads in their reading record. Please do not worry if your child does not complete the whole book in one go, their book will not be changed until they have read it all.
Number Bonds/ Times tables
Number bonds to both 10 and 20 are a vital part of maths learning in Year 1 and 2. Please practise these using the game below to keep them fresh in their mind.

Times tables are also a vital part of your child learning in maths throughout the school. Please practise the x2. You can do this in a practical way by using items around the home such as pasta or buttons to put in groups of two so your child can see how many groups of 2 there are and then physically count the items in groups of two.
For example 3x2=
Your child can work this out by making 3 groups of 2 and then count in 2s.
This will assist your child in recognising the answer to 3x2 is 6.
You can also use Times Tables Rockstars to practise to support this learning too.
