As of Monday 26th April, we will be aiming to achieve a Lincolnshire Schools Active Travel Award. We are encouraging all our pupils to walk, bike or scooter to and/or from school each day - earning themselves team points, a healthy lifestyle and also prizes for those pupils who can travel actively the most within their year group over this term.
If we can get a specific percentage of our pupils travelling actively for at least three days over at least three weeks, we can achieve one of the awards on offer - from Bronze up to Platinum.
If you live outside the village, we have organised with "The Curry Inn," at the village crossroads, to act as a "Park and Stride" for all of our families, both at the beginning and end of the school day. Please feel free to park in the car park and use the village footpath to travel actively to and/or from school.
Come on everyone lets get active and achieve BIG!
Red Nose Day 2021
Friday 19th March
Friday 19th March is Red Nose Day and although it is difficult to think of ideas in the current situation to raise money for this great cause, we would still
really like to try if we can.
SO this year we have two ideas – one as a fundraiser and the other as a bit of fun and comedy to raise awareness of the day and also to hopefully bring a smile to everyone’s faces.
Rocking Red!
Dress in Red – We are asking children and staff to attend school on this day wearing something red/or as red as they can be. We will be doing this as a fundraiser so will be asking children and staff to donate £1 to the charity for this non-uniform day.
Unfortunately, this year we will not be allowing children or staff to wear red noses in school due to health and hygiene concerns. Please do not bring red noses into school.
Each class will have their own donation pot which the children can leave their donations in when they arrive in class on Friday.
Quadring’s THE MASKED SINGER!
On Friday some of the staff will be taking part in Quadring’s Masked Singer. These will be pre recorded short videos of staff singing whilst in disguise. The children will be shown the videos and have a competition to see if they can guess who is behind the mask. There are lots of Team Points to be won for those guessing correctly!!!
The identity of the singers will be revealed at the end of the show.
See you in Red on Friday!!!!
Whilst enjoying a restful Half term break - why not spare a moment to take part in our Community Pathway Challenge.
Can you design and create a poster to encourage our local dog walkers to clean up after their dogs?
Unfortunately our school pathway has become very messy and not the usual delight to walk down that we would encourage everyone to use.
Make your poster as bright and bold as you can and five winners will be picked for prizes and to use their posters along our path.
Send your entries to your teacher on the class emails (FAO: Mrs Luffman or Mrs Jameson) or bring them into school on the first day back next term.
Deadline: Monday 22nd February
Winners announced: Friday 26th February
